What a busy little girl!

We have had a busy little bee lately! Maylee seems to be learning so much! She has started to take her first steps this past week and is starting to say dada and mama! We don't think she knows the meaning of either one yet but I do love it when she goes around the house saying mama! Here is a video of Maylee's first steps...

Last weekend we took Maylee to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro and she had a blast. They had a whole play area just for her age and everything was soft so she could just climb everything and we didn't have to worry about her getting hurt!

Maylee also had her first Easter today! We did a little Easter egg hunt for her and Jimmer this morning. Her eggs were filled with gold fish and chocolate chips... she definitely preferred the chocolate chip eggs : ) She got cute dresses from her grandparents, and the Easter bunny brought her a new summer outfit, slinky, pink car, and a bubble gun! Her and her daddy had a blast playing with bubbles this morning and Maylee thought it was fun to try and catch the bubbles in her mouth!

We decided that we didn't want to decorate eggs since we don't like eating them so we decided to paint cookies instead! We had a wonderful Easter... we just had a lazy day at home (I wasn't feeling well but we had to put Maylee in her Easter dress anyway even though me and her didn't make it to church today) :)

Happy Easter to all of you and we will keep you updated on what the little Maylee bug is up to next!

Holy cow! I cannot believe how fast our little bug is growing up. The last ten months have FLOWN by! I wish she would just slow down for a minute!!
This past week Maylee has started to stand a little more by herself and does great until she realizes what she is doing and then she falls right down! And she will not stand up if we try to get her to do it.. she likes to do it all by herself! She also is really into playing peek-a-boo now and loves to hide behind something and poke her head around it! She even tried to play peek-a-boo behind my legs with her puppy today! So cute! She still really likes to climb on to things... here is a video of her climbing up into her chair. We are still working on getting off of it but it must not hurt when she falls because she goes right back up!

Maylee is a HUGE fan of chocolate (just like her momma) so we decided to let her try some chocolate pudding a few nights ago and she licked the bowl/ her fingers clean!  She can't wait for her birthday cake in 2 months! : )

Last weekend was beautiful weather and so we spent the day at the park with daddy for her ten month birthday. She got so DIRTY playing in the dirt and crawling all over the park! (That is one reason her learning to walk might be nice)

Sunday was St. Patty's Day and thanks to Nana Maylee was very festive... she even had a shamrock on her bum! She didn't get to show it off much at church though... she slept in her stroller for half of church on Sunday (that never happens anymore!)

Another VERY exciting thing happened this past weekend!! Mica (Sam's brother) and his wife Shelbie welcomed their sweet little baby girl into the world! Miss Kimber was born March 15th! We CANNOT wait to meet her... hopefully we will be able to soon!
That is about all that has been happening this past week in Nashville! Since it is Maylee's ten month mark I am just going to jot down what she is up to now:
  • She crawls like a champ and is now starting to crawl on one foot and one knee... it is easier to get to sitting position like this I guess!
  • She can stand up with out holding on to anything for about 30 seconds
  • She LOVES to play peek-a-boo
  • She cruises around the house behind her little zebra walker and loves to walk around outside with our help.
  • She is still wearing 6 to 9 month clothing (She is just a little thing!)
  • All of a sudden she seems to have a huge appetite which is weird since only last week she was so picky! But I am definitely not complaining! She even seems to like her peas this week!
  • She loves to pull off all of her books off of her bookshelf and open them like she is reading.
  • Most of the time she looks like she is hard at work instead of playing. She loves taking things out of containers and putting them back in
  • She now has 7 teeth... 4 on the top and 3 on the bottom. I personally love her only having 3 on the bottom.. I love that her little smile is lopsided!
  • She knows what toys are Jimmers and tries to throw them for him.
  • She still is not saying Momma of Dada but is starting to babble more and gets pretty close
  • She is almost sleeping through the night completely. She usually goes to sleep around 7:30 and wakes up around 4 or 5 to eat and then back to sleep until 7ish.
  • She takes 2 naps. They can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the day!
  • She loves to get peoples attention when we are out and about now. She squeals quite loud until everyone is looking at her! I don't think she is going to be shy!
Well there is soooo much more that this little girl loves to do but mainly she is just a happy baby who is EXTREMELY loved!

This past weekend was a lot of fun! We had Nana visiting while Samuel was out of town for a conference in Vegas. So he got to spend time with his family and we got to have a girls weekend! :)

I decided since she was going to be here it would be the perfect time to make Maylee a "quiet book" I would need all the help I could get since I am not the best at sewing! And not only did we make one quiet book but three! That was the deal my mom would help me make Maylee's but I had to help her make some for her other future grand-kids! Here are some pictures of our books...

Maylee is still learning how to do the activities in the book but she does love pulling everything out of the book!

Maylee did learn something new this week though! She learned to climb stairs!! I had no idea she could do it because we don't have stairs and we were at a friends house and they asked if she was okay by the stairs and I told them yeah I doubt she can climb them yet... two seconds later she was up a step and going on the next! so the rest of our visit at their house was spent on the stairs climbing up them!

And now she climbs into her chair all the time... SCARY!! We are now working on getting out of the chair without face planting... good thing the chair isn't very high!

Maylee also has THREE new teeth coming in... she now has four on the top and three on the bottom! I guess they all decided to pop up at once! I am working on getting a picture of her teethy smile but it is so hard to see them right now! She is getting two big too fast! I can't believe she is almost 10 months old!

That is all for this weeks update!
